High Speed Door Service in Palmerton

A high speed door cycles hundreds of times a shift, so small wear adds up fast. We repair, adjust and maintain fabric and rigid fast doors at your facility, keeping the curtain, drive and safety sensors working together so traffic keeps moving.

Fast doors need steady, careful attention

High speed doors earn their place by opening and closing in seconds, holding temperature, keeping dust and drafts out, and letting forklifts pass without waiting. That same pace is hard on parts. Curtains rub in their guides, drive belts stretch, limit settings drift and photo eyes get knocked out of line by passing loads.

We look after the door you already have before it reaches the point of a full replacement. That means cleaning and adjusting what is worn, replacing the part that actually failed, and telling you plainly when a door has reached the end of its useful life. Most doors we see have years left in them with the right upkeep.

We work on the roll-up fabric doors common at interior openings and cold rooms, as well as rigid doors at exterior openings. If your dock also has standard sectional doors, our Overhead Doors page covers that work.

What high speed door service includes

Curtain and panel fixes

Torn fabric panels, worn vision windows and damaged wind bars are patched or replaced. For rigid doors we deal with bent slats and tired seals so the door shuts evenly from side to side.

Breakaway resets and bottom bar checks

Plenty of fabric doors are made to pop out of their guides when struck by a forklift. We put the curtain back, inspect the bottom bar and edge for damage and make sure it feeds back in smoothly rather than jamming next cycle.

Drive, brake and limit settings

The motor, gearbox, brake and belt or chain drive are inspected, and travel limits are reset so the curtain stops cleanly at the header and floor. Overshooting or bouncing wears out the curtain and guides far sooner.

Safety and activation devices

We test photo eyes, light curtains, reversing edges, motion sensors, floor loops and pull cords. Anything drifting is cleaned and realigned, and parts that no longer respond dependably are replaced.

Guides, seals and weather sealing

We clean, adjust or replace side guides, brush seals and bottom seals so the door keeps air and temperature in as it was built to.

Signs your high speed door needs service

  • It opens slower than it used to

A sluggish door often points to a slipping belt, a dragging brake or a curtain binding in the guides. Catching it early usually means an adjustment instead of a motor.

  • Frequent breakaway events

If the curtain knocks out often, the activation zone may be set too late for your traffic, or the guides may be worn. Each event adds stress to the fabric and edges.

  • The door reverses for no reason

Phantom reversals usually come from misaligned or dirty photo eyes, a damaged reversing edge or a loose sensor connection.

  • Visible tears, fraying or gaps

Small tears spread with every cycle, and gaps along the sides let conditioned air out. In a Pennsylvania winter that shows up quickly as cold drafts at the opening.

  • New noises or vibration

Grinding, clicking or a shudder at the top of travel suggests worn bearings, drive wear or a curtain tracking off center.

The steps of a service visit

  1. 1

    We start on the phone

Let us know what type of door it is, how it is acting and how much traffic passes through. We schedule around your shifts to keep the opening closed off as briefly as we can.

  2. 2

    Checking the door in place

The technician runs the door, looks over the curtain, guides, drive and each safety device, and records wear that has not yet caused a failure. Our team holds forklift and scissor lift training certification, so header work is done safely from proper equipment.

  3. 3

    Findings shared up front

We walk you through what turned up, adding photos when useful, and sort what needs work now from what can wait until a future visit.

  4. 4

    Fix, adjust, then test

After the approved work is done, we cycle the door fully many times and check every safety function before the opening goes back into use. Old parts are hauled off and the area is left clean.

What affects the cost of high speed door work

Most high speed door visits are priced around the door itself and what we find inside it. An adjustment and sensor realignment is a very different job from a new curtain or drive. We explain the options and what each one includes before any work begins.

Door type and size
Fabric roll-up doors, rigid spiral doors and large exterior doors use different parts and take different amounts of time to service.
Parts required
Curtain panels, drive components and control boards vary widely. Some are stocked broadly, while others must be ordered for a specific make.
Height and access
Tall openings and crowded aisles need a lift and sometimes a cleared work zone, which adds setup time.
Condition of the opening
Bent guides, damaged jambs or a worn floor at the threshold may need attention before the door can run properly.
Scheduled versus one-time visits
Doors on a regular service plan tend to need smaller repairs, because wear is caught early. Our Loading Dock Preventative Maintenance page explains how that works.

High speed door questions

Something not covered here? (610) 707-8031

Can you repair a door that a forklift hit?

Usually, yes. Many fabric doors are designed to break away and reset, and we can restore the curtain and check for hidden damage. If the hit bent the guides or header, we will tell you what needs replacing and why.

How frequently does a high speed door need a service visit?

That comes down to how many cycles the door runs each day and the conditions around it. A busy door between a warehouse floor and a cold room wears faster than a lightly used interior door, so it should be seen more often. Once we have looked at the door and heard how your crews use it, we can recommend a sensible interval.

Is your repair work covered?

Yes. Our labor on high speed door repairs comes with a 1-year labor warranty. Coverage on parts depends on the part and its maker, and we explain it when we go over the job with you.

Do you service doors we did not buy from you?

Yes. Most of the doors we maintain were installed by someone else. If a door needs replacing, our Loading Dock Equipment Sales and Loading Dock Equipment Installation pages explain how we handle that.

Will the opening be out of service all day?

Most adjustments and sensor repairs are completed within a single visit. Larger jobs such as a curtain replacement can be scheduled for a slower shift or a weekend to limit downtime.
